The Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone is one of the biggest sporting events on the calendar, attracting over 500,000 fans from around the worlds. Alongside the on-track action, this year's event featured an incredible line-up of live music, with Richard Ashcroft taking to the stage on Friday evening.
For us at Ashdown, it was especially exciting to see a familiar face on stage. Long-time Ashdown artist Damon Minchella was holding down the low end part of Richard Ashcroft's band, with an unmistakable Ashdown rig proudly standing behind him throughout the performance.

Damon has been a valued member of the Ashdown family for many years, and it's always a pleasure to see him delivering his trademark bass sound on some of the world's biggest stages. Whether performing to festival crowds, arena audiences or, in this case, the enormous crowd gathered at Silverstone, Damon continues to demonstrate why he's one of the UK's most respected bass players.
There's something special about seeing an Ashdown rig at an event as iconic as the British Grand Prix. Music and motorsport share the same passion, energy and excitement, and Silverstone provided the perfect backdrop for both. As thousands of fans enjoyed Richard Ashcroft's set after an action-packed day of Formula 1, Ashdown was proud to be part of the soundtrack.
A huge congratulations to Richard Ashcroft, Damon Minchella and the entire band on a fantastic performance. We're proud to have Damon representing Ashdown on stages of this scale and look forward to seeing where the tour heads next.
