Ashdown Engineering is proud to announce that the UK-OBM-C112-500 Bass Combo was recognised with a Best of Show award at the 2026 NAMM Show by Bass Gear Magazine.

Bass Gear Magazine highlighted Ashdown as part of its official Best of Show Awards coverage, praising both the return of UK manufacturing and the performance of the newly updated amplifier range. Among the refreshed lineup, the UK-OBM-C112-500 tilt-back combo stood out as a clear favourite.

Award-Winning Product: UK-OBM-C112-500

The UK-OBM-C112-500 - part of the Original Bass Magnifier series - is a UK-built made 1x12" bass combo, delivering up to 500 watts with an extension cabinet, a significant step up from the previous 300-watt version.

Bass Gear Magazine note several key upgrades that contributed to its Best of Show recognition, including:

  • UK manufacturing, with over 90% of production now returned to the UK.
  • New premium drivers from SICA, alongside B&C and Ciare across the refreshed range.
  • A more powerful Class-D amplifier, offering increased output, responsiveness, and dynamic feel.
  • A tone described as clear, full, and musical, suitable for both stage and tight performance spaces.
  • A practical, gig-ready design, including a tilt-back format and manageable weight.
  • A striking new visual identity featuring Ice Blue Tolex and Silver Weave grille cloth.

The UK-OBM-C112-500 was singled out as a "highly giggable combo" particularly when paired with an extension cabinet, and praised for delivering professional performance at a competitive price point.

Honourable Mention: UK-PBM-200 Bass Head

Bass Gear Magazine also gave an honourable mention to the UK-PBM-200 (Ant) bass head, noting its solid physical build, impressive tone, and outstanding value. Compact yet powerful, the UK-PBM-200 was highlighted as another strong example of Ashdown's refreshed UK-focused direction.

A Proud Moment for UK-Built Bass Amplification

This Best of Show recognition reflects the response from players and reviewers alike to Ashdown's renewed commitment to UK manufacturing, upgraded components, and player-focused design.

We'd like to thank Bass Gear Magazine for the award and recognition, and everyone who stopped by to experience the new Ashdown range at NAMM 2026. Bringing production back to the UK is something we're incredibly proud of - and we're thrilled to see musicians around the world responding so positively.
