Pete Griffin and Ashdown on Stage on the Generation Axe Tour 2016

Pete Griffin joins Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi...

We don’t usually shout too loudly about 6-stringers here on the Ashdown news page, however we found ourselves getting a little excited to find that the line up for the newly announced ‘Generation Axe’ tour features Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi.

"The Generation Axe show is a unique performance of five fiercely talented guitar players coming together to create a 6-string extravaganza that is sure to amaze and delight,” commented Steve Vai.

The Generation Axe band will be accompanied by bassist and Ashdown Artist, Pete Griffin and keyboardist Nick Marinovich.

Ashdown artist Pete Griffin is Grammy Award-winning bassist and has toured with an assortment of well-known names. Pete is currently out on tour with six-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Dr. John on his “Ske-Dat-De-Dat” Tour.

Griffin expressed his excitement in the announcement of his involvement in the Generation Axe tour, “So, almost 10 years ago to this day I met Steve Vai during ZPZ rehearsals. Today I'm proud to say I'll be touring as the backing band for Steve, Official Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt, and Tosin Abasi this April!”, said Griffin on his Facebook page.

The Generation Axe tour begins on 5th April in Seattle and continues consistently through the month and finishing on 8th May in Providence.
