Ashdown On Stage with Walk The Moon at KOKO
"Shut up and Dance with Ashdown"...
Ashdown headed over to Camden’s KOKO on Thursday 25th February to see ‘Walk The Moon,’ all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio.
We caught up with Kevin Ray, bass player in Walk The Moon before the show. He has become a huge ambassador for Ashdown since he started using the gear last summer. "I love the fact that Ashdown are such a huge name, but are a family run business at the same time", said Kevin.
Walk the Moon took to the stage shortly after 9pm following an energetic crowd warm-up by Indie Rock support act, Colony House from Franklin, Tennessee. After cat-walking out to the famed sounds of ‘Circle of Life’ from The Lion King, Walk The Moon well and truly had the young crowd at KOKO dancing and moving to their catchy Pop Rock songs.
Kevin, accompanied by his Ashdown ABM EVO III touring rig sounded gigantic in the sold-out, 2400 capacity KOKO. The tight rhythm section of Kevin Ray and childhood friend (and band mate), drummer Sean Waugaman was extremely impressive.
The band closed the show with their hit song ‘Shut Up And Dance’, which reached number 3 in the UK Download Charts and number 4 in the US’ Billboard Hot 100. Walk The Moon walked back on stage one last time to perform their encore - a great cover of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ followed by their hit song ‘Anna Sun’.
Walk The Moon are heading south to play at Brighton’s, Concorde 2 tonight before hitting the road for a run of shows across Europe.
Stay tuned to hear more from Kevin Ray, Walk The Moon and Ashdown.
