Immy Cliff

Immy Cliff is a multi‑instrumentalist, with a focus on bass guitar, whose playing bridges classical discipline and hard‑hitting rock energy. She trained in harp, flute, recorder, and piano at the Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, before earning a music scholarship to the University of East Anglia, where she completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry.
At 12, Immy taught herself bass guitar, drawing early inspiration from Iron Maiden, Yes, and Rush. Her distinctive background has shaped a unique performance style, combining technical precision with powerful stage presence. Alongside bass, she creates striking harp interpretations of heavy metal songs, sharing performance clips and covers with a rapidly growing online audience.
Immy taught herself guitar as a teenager and has since received guitar tuition from Justin Hawkins. She has joined The Darkness onstage during soundcheck on five occasions on both bass and guitar - experiences that refined her confidence, professionalism, and live performance skills. She is currently the bassist for JOANovARC, an all‑female hard rock band performing headline shows and festivals across the UK.
The Ashdown RM‑500‑EVO III has become a crucial part of Immy’s rig, delivering the clarity, punch, and warmth that define her tone both live and in the studio.
