Guy Pratt at the Royal Albert Hall With David Gilmour
We were invited to head down to the incredible Royal Albert Hall last week to see Guy live with the incredible David Gilmour. Guy has played bass with David for the best part of 40 years and has been a long-time member of his touring and recording band.
The show was incredible with David covering a huge amount of his back catalogue many of which Guy played on the original recordings so was great to hear so many of Guys bass lines played live through his signature Ashdown rig. With his arsenal of basses each with a distinctive sound and chosen specifically for each song, it was a master class in musicianship from every angle.
With the band featuring some incredible musicians including Guy Pratt on bass, Greg Phillinganes and Rob Gentry on keyboards, Adam Betts on drums, and Ben Worsley on guitar. As well as David’s daughter Romany joining them on stage for a large part of the set both singing and playing. The backing vocalists on stage for the set were incredible.
