Reading Festival 2013
We had a great time at the festival catching up with old and new friends….
We got to site on Friday afternoon and met up with old Friend and System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian after having a long catch up over a nice cup of tea we joined the band on stage for there long anticipated slot at this years festival.
The last time we saw System at Reading was in 2003. So ten years has passed but yet the band took to the stage with the same enthusiasm as if it was 2003 again the crowd couldn’t have been bigger the only shame was they were not headlining the event. Half way through the set however I turned around and noticed a very familiar face it was Green Day’s Mike Dirnt checking out there Californian brothers.
After the set we took Shavo over to the NME stage to check out Scrillex (on his request) headline to big top tent, and wow what a show. We also got given festival organizer Melvin Benn’s festival buggy to get over to the tent in time, a very special thanks to Melvin for showing us how to get it started…
Due to other commitments we were unable to get to the site on Saturday but was told by our guys at John Henrys that it was a great day, very wet and muddy but a great day, none the less.
Sunday was a day we had been looking forward to with excitement and anticipation ever since we heard the news all those months ago, Ashdown band and all round great guys Biffy Clyro were headlining and all we could do was count down the clock till 22:00 when they took to the stage for one of the most epic headline performances we have ever had the privilege to witness at this prestigious event. James powered by a number of different amps and cabs destroyed the stage showing the world how mighty they really are. ‘MON THE BIFF’. We were proud to have been part of there live sound. Click HERE to see their full set.
We also found the time to check out Ashdown band Tribes tackle the masses as well as loads of others take to the stages with their trusty Ashdown’s.
Ashdown’s Dr Green pedals went down a storm at the festival being played by loads of people in the John Henrys tent behind the NME tent at the festival. A special thanks to Chris and all at John Henrys for all your efforts.
That’s Festival season done for another year…
