Deadland Ritual

Last night we headed down to the O2 Islington Academy in London to catch up with Geezer Butler and his new 'supergroup' Deadland Ritual. Needless to say Geezer was on fine form and looking like he was having the time of his life! Which is always nice to see from our perspective...

There is clearly a very strong passion from all involved in the show from Geezer Butler taking up the low end duties drummer and all-round legend Matt Sorum keeping the rhythm throughout the show and the legend that is Mr Steve Stevens on guitar.

Lest we forget one of our new favourite people Franky Perez who we first met some 12 years ago in a studio in LA when he was taking up axe duties for Darron Malalkian's Scars on Broadway... It's amazing how things go full circle... Franky was an awesome front man with the audience in his hands. The highlight of the night was and is always NIB played by the man himself! Through his very own signature bass amps the Heads of Doom. Geezer was using 2 x HOD-600's through two ABM-810H cabs and to say it sounded epic is an understatement.

The band take to the Zippo stage later today at Download festival and we for one can't wait for a second night from this awesome 'supergroup' for which the term often gets thrown around but in this case is well and truly justified!

Here are a few shots from the show:
