Deftones on Tour…
We headed up to rehearsals yesterday to catch up with our good friend and longtime Ashdown advocate, Fred Sablan. Fred’s been holding down bass duties with Deftones for the past four years and has truly settled into the band’s groove.
Growing up, Deftones were one of our all-time favourite bands, so getting to work with them today feels like coming full circle. We still remember the first time we saw them live—way back in 2001 at the London Docklands Arena—and we’re happy to say they’re just as tight and electrifying now as they were then.
During rehearsals, we had the chance to run through both their A and B rigs—just to make sure everything was dialled in and ready for the road. Once the checks were done, the band tore through a killer 90-minute set. Safe to say, they’re more than ready to hit the stage.
Fred’s touring rig features:
2 x ABM-600 EVO IV Dual VU Rackmount Heads – proudly built in the UK
2 x ABM-810 Cabinets – delivering that signature Ashdown low-end punch
You can get a closer look at Fred’s setup in the video below, where he walks us through his full touring rig.
The band heads over to Europe later this week to kick off their summer run, including a performance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and some very cool headline shows. Then back state side for the second leg of the bands North American tour...
