The inaugural Blackbird Festival made an unforgettable debut on the 27th of June at Cardiff Castle, bringing together some of the biggest names in modern rock for a landmark event in the heart of Wales. Headlined by Alter Bridge, the festival marked a huge moment for rock fans and we were proud to see Brian Marshall take to the stage as part of the headline performance.
Founded by Alter Bridge themselves, Blackbird Festival delivered a stellar line-up featuring Skindred, Mammoth, Florence Black and Cardinal Black, creating a full day of world-class live music in one of the UK's most iconic outdoor venues. The sold-out atmosphere and incredible performances have already established Blackbird as one of the standout new additions to the rock festival calendar.
Brian Marshall's unmistakable bass tone has been a defining part of Alter Bridge's sound for over two decades, combining power, clarity and groove across the band's extensive catalogue. Seeing him command the stage at Cardiff Castle was another reminder of why he remains one of modern rock's most respected bass players.
