Band Spotlight: Ghega

Italian band Ghega have just dropped an amazing music video that is sure to captivate fans. In this video, the iconic Ashdown VU meter not only tracks the music but also becomes a mesmerising visual.

We recently spoke to the band, and here is what they said:

Ghega is an Italian dialect expression that meaning “blow”.

The term is already eloquent in itself and Ghega’s intentions leaves very little for the imagination, already evident in “Vira”, their first single taken from their first completely self-produced (VideoClip included) and yet unreleased album.

The title and the lyrics of the song refer to suggestions, beliefs and figures that have their roots in both African spiritual cultures and their consequent deportation and rivistation, creating that mythological imagery typical of the black blues of the origins, writing concept of the entire album (of which the band has not revealed the title) and which aspires to be a love letter to those protagonists who were the old bluesman of the early days.

But when they take action, power reigns supreme: the sound finds its foundations in the heavy and airy drums, deep and ready to attack, where every blow is a punch in the stomach while distorted, aggressive, angular and fat, dirty, octavated guitars they do the rest and going straight to the bone.

An uncompromising Metal Power-Duo.

Authentic, handmade in Italy.
