Remembering John Entwistle
It was this time 17 years ago we were waking to a barrage of messages with the news that John had passed away the night before the Who were meant to start on the North American tour. 17 years on and his unmistakable tone and humour resonates as loud today as it did all those years ago...
Thank you for the memories John and thank you for everything you did for us and our family, we wish we had more time with you but that wasn't to be. A brandy will be raised to your memory this evening.
As were John's wishes a donation in John's memory will be made to The Teenage Cancer Trust and The British Heart Foundation. If you so wish you can donate to these wonderful causes just click on the links above.
John Alec Entwistle - 9th October 1944 - 27th June 2002
The opening reading from the Order of Service:
'If i should go before the rest of you break not a flower nor inscribe a stone, Nor when i'm gone speak in a Sunday voice, But be the usual selves I have known. Weep if you must. Parting is hell, But life goes on. So sing as well.' - Joyce Grenfell (1910-1979)

Simply. The. Best. No one could not can do what he did on the bass guitar or for the bass guitar. Rest In Peace Mr. Ox
I’m the lucky and proud owner of John’s original Klystron Bass Magnifier and his APM 1000. His preamp settings are etched on the front. Bought from Funky Junk 17 years ago.
Long live rock and long live the Ox!🤘
