Ashdown Powers the British Music Embassy SXSW 2018

South by Southwest is an annual music and film festival that takes place every March in Austin, Texas, US. The music festival hosts a range of artists performing in bars, clubs, parks, churches, hotels – you name it – in Austin. This year’s festival took place across the week of 12th - 18th March.

Every year The British Music Embassy takes over a venue for the week, playing host to some of the most exciting, young and upcoming UK talent. Our good friends at Cato Music (a music product company based in South West London) run the production and stage operation at the British Music Embassy at the Latitude 30 venue.

In support of English artists taking the big leap across the pond, Cato Music’s General Manager, Ant Forbes has always requested the presence of Ashdown Engineering on their stages.

With a long heritage in British Amplification, Ashdown have always been happy to get involved. It doubles-up as a great opportunity to work with new and emerging artists. Over the years we have spent priceless time with The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, Artic Monkeys, Razorlight, Bloc Party, Lilly Allen, Jamie T and many more.

This year, we supplied an RM800 Head, ABM 600 EVO IV Head and an ABM 810 Cab as backline to bands and artists including Frank Turner, Himalayas, Touts, Pale Waves and Rachel K Collier.

Thanks to Cato Music, The British Music Embassy, Latitude 30  and of course, all of the artists at SXSW.
